Product Details
The REDARC Smart Start SBI12 is a 12V, 100A microprocessor-controlled dual battery isolator for 4WD and commercial vehicles. It protects your start battery from excessive discharge while the auxiliary battery runs your non-essential loads, so the engine still turns over when you need it.
It works as a solenoid priority system, connecting at 13.2V and disconnecting at 12.7V, with a 5 second turn-on and 10 second turn-off delay. Unlike a diode isolator, it avoids the associated voltage drop, and built-in electronics stop the solenoid generating high voltage transients. Standby current is under 5mA, and LED indication warns of over-voltage, voltage drop and excessive current draw. REDARC recommends pairing it with a quality fuse kit.
