Built for extremely heavy-duty work, the REDARC Smart Start SBI212 is a 12V, 200A dual battery isolator aimed mainly at commercial vehicle dual battery systems. It keeps the start battery protected while the auxiliary battery supplies non-essential loads, so a big accessory draw never leaves you stuck.
The microprocessor-controlled solenoid connects at 13.2V and drops out at 12.7V. It handles 200A continuous with a 600A max inrush current, and draws less than 5mA on standby. Compared with a diode isolator, there is no diode voltage drop to contend with, and onboard electronics prevent high voltage transients from the solenoid. LED fault indication flags over-voltage, voltage drop and excessive current draw. Fit it with a quality fuse kit rated to suit.
