Product Details
For heavy-duty 24V dual battery systems, the REDARC Smart Start SBI224D isolates the start and auxiliary batteries at up to 200A continuous, with dual sensing that allows charging both ways. Solar panels or an external AC charger on the auxiliary battery can top up the start battery too.
When external charge brings the auxiliary battery to 26.4V, the SBI224D connects the start battery to share it, then isolates at 25.4V. The microprocessor-controlled solenoid avoids the voltage drop of diode isolators, and electronics stop the solenoid generating high voltage transients. LED indication reports over-voltage, voltage drop and excessive current draw. It is used primarily in commercial vehicles and should be installed with a quality fuse kit.
